The Ingenico Lane 5000 credit card machine is one of the current POS machines used by Ciocca Automotive. It is connected to your computer using an application called the Virtual Terminal Bridge. Whenever there is an outage or the credit card machine itself is turned off, the machine may be disconnected from the computer. This article will show you how to reset your credit card machine's connection to the computer.

IMPORTANT: SAVE YOUR WORK BEFORE UPDATING THE VT BRIDGE, IT MAY RESTART YOUR PC!

EDIT: THE LATEST VERSION OF VIRTUAL TERMINAL BRIDGE IS 7.9 (May 31st 2024). IF THE MACHINE DISPLAYS "PLEASE WAIT" BUT IT IS NOT WORKING, SKIP TO STEP 6.

1. Check if the machine is showing "Please Wait" above the CenPOS logo on the screen.

2. Go to Start menu and scroll down till you see and click "VirtualTerminalBridge." For Windows 11, Go to Start menu and click "All apps"(Shown on the bottom)

3. Click "Restart Bridge Service" (It maybe on your desktop already).

A black command window will show that the virtual terminal bridge is restarting before automatically closing. If the command window pops up and immediately closes in a flash, contact IT support. It maybe corrupted and needs to be repaired.

4. On the credit card machine, press and hold the "yellow" button and "pound/hash" button at the same time until the screen shows "Reset in progress"

5. When the machine is fully booted and shows the CenPOS logo, Click "Restart Bridge Service." It should display "Please Wait" above the CenPOS logo.

6. Go back to "VirtualTerminalBridge" in the Start menu and click "Check for Updates". If the shortcut is missing from both the folder and desktop, go to File Explorer and paste and go to this address:

C:\VirtualTerminalBridge\temp. You should then select "updater"

Note: Your PC may restart after the update is complete (SAVE YOUR WORK BEFORE PERFORMING THE UPDATE). If the machine does not say "Please Wait", repeat steps 3-5.

If an update is available, the window will disappear after the update is ran successfully. To make sure the update did run successfully, click "Check for Updates" again and the following windows will appear.
