When sending any sensitive or personal information, it is good practice to encrypt the email. If it so happens that nefarious actors do intercept a message with important information, they should not be able to use it. Microsoft Outlook has the encryption function available for any email you compose.
Always encrypt OUTBOUND (emails outside the company) emails that contain sensitive information.
NOTE: Encrypted emails must be opened using the official application for your email provider. For example, if you are using the Mail app from Apple for your Outlook email(including your mobile devices), you will not be able to read encrypted messages. You will have to use the Outlook app to read the message. Third party email hosting applications generally cannot decrypt emails unless you go directly to the official site.
Please download the Outlook app on any of your relevant devices.
To encrypt your email on the web version of Outlook (and New Outlook):
Click "Options" on the top menu
Click the arrow next to the yellow lock symbol
Click "Encrypt"

Outlook Classic:

You can also encrypt an email by typing the word "encrypt" in the subject line.
